The Sips & Sojourns Story

WELCOME TO MY WINE AND TRAVEL SITE!

I have been writing for decades. I love the writing I do for profit and for passion. Whether I am crafting just the right real estate blog that will help someone decide to buy their first home or putting the final edits on a poem or a memoir essay, I’m happiest when I’m writing.

I started leaning about wine when I started traveling. And I’ve found that the deeper I go into cultures and customs, the more I want to taste what comes from the land, the soil, the people.

Writing brings me to my most authentic self. And the older I get, the more I crave that specific thing: authenticity.

What I really want to write about is wine. And the places in which I drink wine. Because for me, wine is a journey. It’s the bottle of Bardolino Chiaretto my friend Marta presented to me when I was living in Tuscany and eating at the restaurant she and her husband Massimo run in Florence (Martare – go there).

It’s the sparkling white Txakoli wine in Spain’s Basque Country, where the local language is said to have been discovered by aliens. It’s the tasting tour in Bordeaux where I ate mussels fresh out of a steamy pot and the Albarino I sampled in Costa Rica, on the top of a mountain, surrounded by artists. Wine is poetry. Travel is intimacy.

I welcome you here to share in the journey. To read my stories. To tell me your own.

Follow me as I sip and as I sojourn.
